Garage Shop Budget Planner
A beginner woodshop is a jobsite saw, a sliding miter saw, a drill press, a shop vacuum with a cyclone separator and a mobile base, totalled as a budget band from catalog prices. Intermediate swaps in heavier benchtop machines from Grizzly, and expert moves to 240V cabinet machines. Grizzly prices change weekly and are never typed here: price them on grizzly.com.

Both ways to buy: Amazon and direct from Grizzly
Each card shows an Amazon pick and a Grizzly Industrial pick for the same job, with one line on when to choose which.
Benchtop table saw
The Amazon pick is a jobsite saw with a folding rolling stand you can stow against a wall; the Grizzly saw is a heavier variable-speed benchtop that stays on its bench.
Benchtop metal lathe, entry
The Amazon lathe is a VEVOR 7 x 14; the Grizzly G4000 is a 9 x 19 with a 3/4 HP motor and 294 lb of cast iron. More lathe means more floor and more weight.
6 ft adjustable workbench
Choose the Amazon bench to keep spending down; choose the Grizzly bench when you run power tools on it every weekend and want the built-in outlets.
Prices change often and Grizzly runs sales, so the buttons show current prices.
How the tiers work
Each trade has three machine packages: beginner (the least you spend to do real work), intermediate (heavier benchtop machines you will not outgrow quickly) and expert (cabinet-class, often 240V machines). Packages mix Amazon items and Grizzly Industrial direct items. The Amazon items add into a budget band, rounded up from catalog prices; Grizzly items are listed by name, because Grizzly prices change every week and are never typed on this site.
Put it on your floor
A package only works if it fits the bay. Open the matching layout page for your garage and trade to see which machines fit with a parked car and which do not, then use the amps calculator for the subpanel.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a garage woodshop cost?
It depends on the tier. The planner shows an Amazon budget band for each package and lists the Grizzly machines to price directly on grizzly.com.
Why are some prices not shown?
Grizzly prices rotate weekly and Amazon requires that its prices come from its own feeds, so we show budget bands and tiers instead of hand-typed numbers.
Do I need all of it on day one?
No. Buy the first two or three machines of a package, and plan the electrical for the whole thing so you only open the wall once.
