How We Research
Researched, not tested
We do not claim to have tested, measured or owned any machine. Specifications come from the manufacturer listing (for Grizzly machines, copied from grizzly.com) and nothing is invented. Where a listing does not give a figure, the page says so.
Planning allowances
Some machines are classes (a jobsite saw on a stand, a benchtop planer, a miter station). For those the layout uses a planning allowance, labelled as such on every page, because no single listing speaks for the class.
Electrical figures
Motor amps come from NEC Table 430.248, conductor ampacity from NEC Table 310.16 (60 C copper column, with 240.4(D) applied), voltage drop from NEC Chapter 9 Table 8 circular mils, and breaker sizes from NEC 240.6(A). The 125 percent rule is NEC 430.22. Where a tool cannot give an honest answer it says so instead of guessing. Have a licensed electrician confirm every circuit before you wire anything.
Conventions
Operator zones, vehicle walk-around, diversity factors, heat-loss U-values, air changes, footcandle targets and tool air consumption are shop conventions, not code values, and each calculator says which.
Prices
We do not type prices. Amazon items show a budget tier computed at build time from the catalog (Under $100, Under $500) and totals round up to a band. Grizzly prices change weekly, so Grizzly items link to Grizzly itself.
Products
Every Amazon item is a verified listing whose title was checked against the product we mean. Every Grizzly item is a SKU we confirmed live and in stock on grizzly.com.
